When the poor and the troubled approached him with their woes, he did not merely sympathise with them, but helped them with justice being delivered. That is why he was loved by one and all — his own juniors in the police force and by the people he served. That, to my mind, is the true worth of a professional policeman. And also the true measure of his success.It is impossible to even remotely suspect Hemant Karkare of involving a woman, or a man for that matter, in a false case.
