Bagua

Hey all,I'm doing a Bagua workshop with Bruce Frantzis, I'm basically a raw beginner with Bagua, although I have some experience with Yang Style tai chi, as well as standing chi gong / yiquan postures. My question is, how best to prepare for the workshop? Should I focus on circle walking, mud stepping, or just work on my chi gong stuff? I really want to get my money's worth and establish a strong practice but I honestly don't know where to begin. Any advice would be super helpful. Go for long walks, either in a circle or just around town. I would vary the speeds and focus on the waist's connection with the lower body. I've been speedwalking recently.

Its good practice.I've been recommending rollerblading to people interested in Bagua, since blading is also all about that waist twist. If you know the triple burner chigong that's always a good warm-up / round-outer, then just finish up with chigong of your choice. Mainly to move all the energy in your legs throughout the whole body. Yes I went last year.

Frantzis Bagua Mastery Program

Mastery

Bruce's style is more lecture a lot gives you background and kind of taps in to see where everyone is at and speaks at you. Then you spend time outside working on circle walking in groups and instructors are there to help if you have any questions. No need to sweat. Also the Bagua Mastery program online is available again in 2017 sometime and I think a lot of what has been recorded is available through that program. No need to worry about anything it's definitely a relaxed environment. The majority of his audience are 'soft' people and the focus will be on the healing/meditation aspects of the art.
