Pros:- This camera works well for what I need - puppy cam. I wanted something that I could jump onto to see what my puppy is doing while I'm not there (don't really need it to be recorded all the time). The set up was easy to follow through the guide.- Picture quality is nice with 1080p. Sound is good. Zoom is good.- Being able to take screenshots is great, but, I wish I could take a screenshot of what I zoomed in on.- Night vision works great!
Good transition from light to dark.- So, far does what I need so nothing to hate about it.Cons:- That awful loud beep when you have to connect to the WiFi.- Camera movement could be better. It's very fidgety as in, if you want to move view to right/left/up/down, it's like when the clock hand ticks.- Microphone could be better. The camera feels very solid. I feel confident that it is weather proof, although I have not tested it in the rain yet.
The base mount is not long enough to allow direct 90 degree angle as shown by another customer image. However, it works perfectly if angled at a slight turn.
I installed mine on the corners of my house and used a 1/2' drill bit to run the wire through the soffit into the attic.My only complaint is that these cameras do not have a micro USB storage to store images. Therefore you must use the cloud storage provided by Zmodo. The picture quality is very good in the daytime. At night, the infrared allows for night vision, although any additional light such as a headlights washes out the image. Good security system.NVR Unit: Slightly large footprint (similar size to a DVD player) but still functional with no large complaints.
It does need to be connected to a monitor in order to use software built into the NVR.Cameras: Camera quality is pretty good, but not perfect. Things do look clear, but I still find it difficult to get license plates at a distance even if I have the camera situated fairly close to the street and it is daytime. Additionally, the IR cannot be turned off while in night mode, so sometimes bugs get attracted to the camera. I was hoping to have a separate IR light away from the camera to illuminate the area at night while keeping the camera's IR off, but this setup is not possible, which is a little disappointing.Software: Great that there is an iPhone app and desktop, but the interface can be a bit. Works great easy to set up blends quite nicely with it's sleek modern appeal. I had it sitting next to a Xbox and dvr in a curio and Friends didn't notice the active cam until I pointed it out. Those that did asked if it was part of my xbox like a connect add on.
I haven't gotten a chance to test out it over web viewing from a long distance, however over my wifi it runs smoothly. WAY better than other brands I own. Wish I had bought this one first, I got this one on sale, just ordered another and would pay full price no problem. It's mounted to the ceiling in a my basement and it works great as diy PTZ camera, could easily spend 100 dollars on a PTZ of this quality. I sold the other cameras I had and bought these, I. Android app is outstanding. I'm buying a two more.Image quality is excellent, night vision is ok. On a Mac, you need to install the WebVideoPlugin from the Hikvision web site (after creating the required user account) before you can view live video in Safari browser. There doesn't seem to be anything similar for Firefox nor Chrome, and on Linux, video doesn't work at all.
Hikvision also builds a specialized application called iVMS (for Windows, Mac, iPhone, etc) that works with the camera, but I experienced several crashes of iVMS on my Mac. Fortunately, iVMS-4500 HD works well on an iPad.The camera manual is minimal but seemed adequate, until I discovered that it is misleading. Factoring: Cost, Product reviews, Phone app Reviews, and all around features listed for each product. The 'cost' was not the cheapest but fair. The latest 'product reviews' were not bad, but older reviews were a bit shaky to poor.
As for 'phone app reviews' this is what frightened me for all of the products I was watching. Especially Zmodo! With this type of camera, the app and cloud service is all that matter! Luckily I had been paying close attention for a while. I noticed a trend with the zmodo app for 'Android'.

The live video feeds load very fast and look great once you press the HD button. The two way audio is just OK but not really needed for monitoring. Overall this a pretty good value for use with ZoneMinder and my FireTV. I'm using it inside, so it should perform well. Like most of these cheap cameras though, you have to go into their setups and lower the FPS and disable the motion detection so they won't overheat themselves and reboot. My camera was supplied with one of the 'passive 12v power supplies' but I'm running it with a.af 48V POE switch. So it appears to work either way.

I had ordered more expensive security cameras in the past that just didn't cut the mustard. I ordered funlux cameras mainly because of the price and when I installed them I expected them to be mediocre. I was very impressed with their user friendliness, clarity, quality and ease of use with my iPhone. They install very easily. The quality is second to none and the view is amazing.
I can see my entire back yard, front yard and side of my house with little effort. They are very user friendly. No special hardware, tools or specialist needed to install them. I was able to see clearly up to about 50 feet. The alerts make my family feel secure and safe. I no longer feel like a prisoner in my home.
